FoGB NEWSLETTER March 2017
FLAG Open Day:
The Takaka FLAG group have open meetings on next Friday, 10th March. While many members will have put in comments on their draft report, it is also important to attend one of the two sessions. This will be an opportunity to interact with FLAG members, ask questions and clearly state your opinion. FLAG members could be influenced by your attendance and thoughts. The sessions, at 1.30 and 6.30 pm, will begin with a short presentation. Both meetings are at the Takaka Bowling Club, Hiawatha Lane.
You may wish to read the Friends of Golden Bay submission before the meeting and also to give thought to questions you want answered by FLAG or TDC staff. Our submission can be found on our new web site (see below). Please ask if you want an e-mailed copy of our submission.
Our website is now open for public viewing. You will find it at http://friendsofgoldenbay.org.nz
It will be expanded in coming weeks and we would appreciate any ideas to make it more effective. Our thanks go to Paul Keown for his work on the site. Please e-mail comments to him at email@example.com.
The site includes our submission to FLAG and an update on the appeal on the Wainui Spat Catching Private Plan Change to the Tasman Resource Management Plan.
You are again invited to attend our next committee meeting where you will be welcome to present ideas or concerns.
Date: Wednesday 15th March
Place: Heather and Rick’s home, 75 Tukurua Beach Road
Time: Pre-meeting shared meal at 6 pm
The meeting is from 7-30 to 9-30 pm
Our AGM is currently scheduled for April 27th where our speaker will be Dr Graham Fenwick, New Zealand’s groundwater ecologist. Please note this in your dairy. More details will follow.
At this year’s AGM we will be looking for new people to take leading roles on the Committee. If you are interested or can suggest suitable members contact one of the current committee or come to the next Committee meeting on the 15th March to see what might be involved.
